Ok, I wanted to wait until the basement was finished to do a big reveal, but it’s taking forever and there’s still a lot to do, so I thought I’d just share some pictures of the giant mess of what we’ve done.
Here’s where we started before we moved in:
And this is what it looks like now:
Ahem… ignore the mess.
I’ll share the full process once it’s complete, but to cover the wood paneling we’re basically covering the top portion with a wallpaper liner that creates a flat surface. That’s getting painted blue. The bottom we’re leaving the paneling and painting it white to look like wainscoting. Here’s the most complete wall we have (of course it’s the TV wall, aka the most important wall according to Zack).
It’s almost complete; we still need to paint the bottom white (currently primed) and apply molding which we’ll do all at once when all the walls are painted.
We’ve just been working on whatever we feel like doing at the time, so right now each wall of the basement is in different stages of the process.
The doors have actually been painted white, they’re just waiting for their handles to be spray painted which is impossible in this winter.
I’m chuckling because I didn’t really realize we still had that Lions poster on the wall.
I feel like we should be way further along in the process than we are. I’m going to blame Zack, for it being his space, he doesn’t seem very motivated. But I know he doesn’t really enjoy doing it like I do. And it really doesn’t help that he’s already set up his TV up down there. But it’s coming along. We’ll get there one day.
So here’s the list of things that still need to be done:
Ok, so there’s still a lot to do, but it’s coming along. I think it’s going to look great when it’s done…. hopefully.
