Nerd Vortex

Posted by on Jan 25, 2017 in Website | 0 comments

Hey there, long time no see!

I plan to update you all soon on everything that I’ve been up to lately, including some fun new projects, but today I want to share one of them with you…

My friend Kelsey and I have finally decided to start a new blog together! You can check us out at www.nerd-vortex.com

It’s a place where we can share our love of movies, tv and books, and it’s going to be a lot of fun!

So what does that mean for this blog? Well, I really do want to keep posting here, but I will be focusing more on that blog for now. Updates may be sporadic like they have been, but I will make more of an effort. You may also see less full book reviews, but I’d like to still do some recaps of what I’ve read.

I’m going to try to start catching up on my blog reading too, so you should start seeing some comments from me soon!

Anywho, more to come soon, but please come check out nerd-vortex and nerd out with us!

Still Alive

Posted by on Jul 19, 2015 in My Life, Website | 3 comments

Hey guys, just checking in to let you know that I’m still alive, just haven’t been in the blogging mood. I didn’t want to force myself to blog because I consider this a hobby, and didn’t want it to become a chore. Instead of hopping on the computer each evening, I’ve been sitting in front the TV binge watching anything and everything (I just finished Leverage today and I miss it already, I need more!).

But today I went and got a new laptop! Yay! My last one died a year ago and I’ve just been using my desktop. So now I’m hoping to be a lot more productive while sitting on the couch. I’ve got plenty of book reviews to write, vacation photos to share (oh, we went to NYC earlier this month!), and plenty more. You should be hearing a lot more from me, and I have lots of blogs to catch up on, so give me a little to get this laptop up and running and get caught up ;)

It’s been a great year for my blog and I’m hopeful that 2015 will be even bigger and better! Thanks to everyone who continues to visit my blog, I really appreciate it!

Here are my most popular blog posts from 2014 based on the overall number of views:

5. How to Make A No Sew Tutu

My simple tutorial for making a no sew tutu gets a lot of hits from pinterest and some google searches.

4. Chevron Bookcase

Another easy tutorial for using contact paper to add some fun to your book case that gets a lot of hits from Pinterest.

3. SGC and the Pegasus Galaxy

Apparently there are still a lot of Stargate fans out of there, because I get a lot of Google hits for this one.

2. Sexy Craft Rooms

Who knew people would love my messy craft room so much? Ok, it’s probably sharing the Ikea desks and a few inspirational rooms that get all the hits. This reminds me that I really need to share an update from this room. It looks completely different now.

1. Nothing Says “I Love You” Like Furniture

My most popular post is mostly due to linking to it in a comment on a popular blog that brought me hundreds of hits over a couple of days. This is where I share the cute little cabinet we got from Target. Another room that I need to update on the blog.

Guest Posts?

Posted by on May 30, 2014 in Guest Posts, Website | 3 comments

Hey guys! In a couple of weeks one of my co-workers is running off to Europe. For 3 whole weeks. Excuse me while I cry (50% jealous, 50% OMG I WILL HAVE TO WORK SO MUCH!… ok 80% jealous).

Anyway, I will be working a whole bunch of overtime cause there’s basically two of us who will be managing her files while she’s gone. At least there will be over time pay to buy lots of shiny things put into savings. I want to keep up with 2-3 blog posts a week, but I may need help. So I’m asking if anyone would like to do a guest post?! It’ll be super fun, I promise ;) If you’re interested, please email me at samanthanfabris@gmail.com and let me know what you’d like your post to be about. Of course, I’m happy to return the favour if you’d like.

BTW, is anyone viewing my blog on explorer? When I view my blog on my work computer my banner is HUGE, but it’s fine on Chrome and Firefox. Anyone having this issue? Thanks!

Have a great weekend everyone! Anyone have any exciting plans?

Birthday Celebration!

Posted by on Apr 18, 2014 in Website | 13 comments

It’s a pretty exciting month here at Fabulous Fabris for multiple reasons:

It’s my birthday this weekend!

Yep, I’m turning 25 this weekend (on Easter Day, bla). And if that wasn’t enough to celebrate…

It’s my blog’s birthday this month as well!

Hard to believe it, but my blog has been up and running for a full year now. But that’s not all…

This is my 100th post!

Craziness! But that’s still not all…

It’s also been a year since we first bought our house!

I guess we really have no excuse for those unpacked boxes…

So I thought to celebrate all of these milestones, I would have a big celebration that involves giving away prizes. Sounds awesome to me! Keep checking back cause I’ve got a few giveaways up my sleeve, and we’re going to start with one right now!

I’m going to give away a $25 Amazon gift card! This is only for those of you in the US. Sorry, I’ve got more giveaways coming next week that will be available for anyone to enter. So if you can order from Amazon.com, you can enter this giveaway and an e-gift card will be emailed to the winner.

You can earn up to 6 entries by entering in the rafflecopter below. This giveaway will close in 2 weeks on 5/2.

Come back next week for some more giveaways.

Have a Happy Easter everyone!

I would love to get some feedback on what people like to see and read about on my blog. So I’m hoping to get some comments letting me know what type of posts you like reading and want to see more of; whether you like the book reviews, photos, DIY posts or something else. Or perhaps there’s something completely different that I haven’t posted about that you’d like to see?

I’ve thought about sharing details from my wedding as I did a lot of the planning myself, invitations, favours, table cards, etc. Or posting photos from vacations I’ve been on (Australia, Europe, Florida, DC).

Please take a minute to leave a comment and let me know what you think. You can even tell me what you don’t like ;)
